MEET THE TEAM

EDVIN BERZINS

Edvin is from Naujene, Latvia, and he started playing hockey when he was just 4 years old.

Growing up, he spent his entire childhood playing for HK Dinaburga in Daugavpils, where he developed his passion for the game and built the foundation of his career.

At 16 years old, he moved away from home to Latvia’s capital, Riga, to compete for HS Riga. It was a major step forward that challenged him both as a player and as a person.

After that season, he had the honor of representing his country at the 2024 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship, wearing the Latvian jersey on the international stage.

Following the tournament, he continued his hockey journey by moving to Czechia, where he played for Slavia Praha and gained valuable experience competing at another high level of European hockey.

For the 2025–26 season, he made the decision to come to North America and join the Watertown Shamrocks of the NAHL. "It has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I’m excited for everything that lies ahead," says Berzins.

THOMAS FOLEY

Thomas is from Watertown South Dakota and has been playing hockey for 16 years. After high school, he decided to continue on his hockey career and went to play juniors for two years in Alexandria for the Blizzard and he has "never enjoyed anything more."

He joined the team not knowing what to expect and it was a battle everyday. Adapting to a new type of game, group of guys, and being away from home was challenging. Fighting for playing time was an understatement, it wasn’t given, it was earned. Finding what his role was took time and was difficult, but it ended up being the biggest part of his success on the team and has helped him move on to the next level to play at University of Nebraska-Omaha ACHA.

ANTONS MACIJEVSKIS

Antons Macijevskis (born February 28, 2006, in Riga, Latvia) is a Latvian ice hockey forward who plays the center position. Known for his skating and two-way play, he shoots left and has developed through both European and North American systems.

Macijevskis began his career in Latvia with HS Rīga, where he produced solid offensive numbers in the Optibet Hockey League. He later moved to North America to compete in the NAHL with the Watertown Shamrocks, gaining valuable experience over two seasons and appearing in more than 100 games.Internationally, he has represented Latvia at the U18 and U20 levels, including participation in the IIHF World Junior Championships.

In August 2026, Macijevskis joined the Red Bull Salzburg organization, continuing his development in one of Europe’s top hockey systems and competing at the junior level in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL).

BRIELLA VANDUSSELDORP

Briella is from Watertown, South Dakota, and has been playing hockey for 9 years. In high school, she decided that she really wanted to play college hockey at a high level. During her junior year, she played for the St. Louis AAA Blues. Then, for the last two years, she played in New Hampshire for the Mountain Cats.

Now, Briella is about to start her freshman season at Saint Anselm. Leaving home wasn’t easy, but Briella is "so glad I did it." Her family has been super supportive through everything, and that means a lot to her. This whole journey has pushed Briella in so many ways—working hard in practice to earn ice time and doing all the little things off the ice to get better. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s definitely been worth it. "I’m really excited to see what’s next!" says Briella.
